Boys 2024-2025 Tryout Dates and Location:

Dates: October 5th and October 12th.  

Location:  East Greenwich High School

All NERVA 16's and younger from 6:00pm - 7:30pm

All NERVA 17's and 18's from 7:00pm-9:00pm

Athletes should attend both tryout dates.  If you are interested in attending our tryouts and can not make either date, please reach out to make other arrangements.

1.  Q: Do we have to attend all the tryout dates?  A:  We encourage athletes to attend all of the tryout dates offered for their age group, but it is not a requirement.

2.  What do we need to bring to attend tryouts?  A:  All athletes must bring proof of their NERVA membership.  This can be a physical copy or a digital copy showing their current membership.  All information on how to register and print nerva card can be found at www.nevolleyball.org.

3.  Q:  Are teams predetermined or do you keep last year's teams together?  A:  No, every athlete is given a fair opportunity to make a competitive team and no, teams from last year do not stay together.

4.  Q:  Am I guaranteed to make a team at SCVB?  A:  Unfortunately we are not able to place all athletes each year.  

5.  Q:  Are parents allowed to watch tryouts?  A:  Tryouts are closed to everyone except our athletes and coaches.

6.  Q:  Will we feel pressured to make a decision to accept a roster spot immediately following the tryouts?  A:  No, we will give each family a few days to make their decision and reach out with questions before making their decision to accept.

7.  If selected to a team, what does the tuition cover?  A:  Tuition covers the costs of uniforms, equipment, coaching, practices, tournaments, recruitment services, etc.  Tuition does not cover costs associated with travel such as hotel stays for our multi-day events.

8.  If selected to a team, do you offer payment plans?  A: Yes, all families will have the option to pay in full or with a monthly payment plan.

9.  Does SCVB offer scholarships or financial aid?  A:  Unfortunately we have priced our programs to cover the costs associated with our season and typically are not able to offer scholarships or financial aid.  We encourage players to attend the tryout if interested and once selected contact us for possible scholarships/fundraising opportunities.

Step #2 - Compete the South County Tryout Registration - the tryout fee remains at $75 this season.  

Step # 3 - Renew or purchase your NERVA membership.  Every athlete and coach must have a current NERVA membership to attend our Tryout.

We will be forming 8-10 teams maximum this Boys Season.  Over the last several seasons, South County has become a very competitive club throughout New England and beyond.  We hope to continue on that path this season.  We are adding additional tournaments for our Elite teams this season.

SCVB Elite - Larger tournament schedule, including more out of region events.  Up to 17 tournament dates.  2-3 practices per week.

SCVB Regional + - Similar tournament schedule as last season.  Up to 15 tournament dates.  2-3 practices per week.

SCVB Boys 15U Training Club - For any athletes age 15U or younger, we will offer our weekly training club option.

Reminder, a parent must create a sporstengine account AND THEN under that free membership, create one for their athlete during the NERVA membership process.  Once on our www.southcountyvb.net website, the parent will log in using the same sportsengine login used to purchase the NERVA membership.   

Log in button is in the top right of your screen.  You will see a circle with your initials in the circle once logged in.  Click the circle and then click mysportsengine.

This will bring you to another page.

-On the left of screen, click "Household" and then your athletes profile.

-From there you will see a list of past and current memberships for your athlete.  Click on "View Details"

-You can then choose to "Save Membership Card".  This will give the option to print card of save to a digital wallet.

-If your athlete's membership shows as "ineligible", the requirements for eligibility can be found on this page also.

SCVB Elite Teams (18-1, 17-1)

Tuition for our Elite teams will be $3,300.00.  This tuition includes the cost of attending AAU Nationals in July.

(18-3, 17-3, 16-3, 15-1) SCVB Regional Teams will have similar tournament schedule as Regional + teams (15 Tournament Dates).  These teams will practice on Mondays(Warwick) and non tournament Saturdays(EGHS).  Tuition for these teams will be $2,350.00

15U Training Club - If we have enough players 15U or younger that are not placed on a competitive team, we will offer this program.  This program will practice once per week on Saturdays and compete in 2-3 tournament/scrimmages throughout the season.  All Boys will receive uniforms.  Cost for season is $500.00 Season runs from December to March.

Tuition includes tournaments, practices, uniform, warm-up shirts, coaching, recruiting services and Balltime accounts (for our 17's and 18's).  Families will have option to pay upfront or in 4 equal installments.  Each team will be coached by former college players, college coaches and high school coaches.  We are confident that our athletes will receive elite instruction throughout the season.

Each Team will have its own tuition based on season practice hours and tournament dates.  Tuition will likely range from $2,500.00 - $3,500.00 depending on exact practice and tournament schedule.
